Shama Saleem joined Housing Trust in June 2026 as a Communications & Development Assistant, bringing her marketing expertise and mission-driven spirit to the community she was raised in. In this role, she supports the organization’s fundraising and communications efforts to expand access to affordable housing across Silicon Valley.
A proud San Jose native and San José State University alumna, Shama holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing, which she completed with Cum Laude honors through the Gary J. Sbona Honors Program. She brings a strong background in digital and social media marketing, with experience spanning startups, corporations, and five years as Marketing Specialist at Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley, where she developed a deep commitment to addressing the Bay Area housing crisis. Her passion for community impact is further reflected in her volunteer work with Second Harvest Food Bank and the Stanford Blood Center.
