Francesca Segrè joined Housing Trust as its inaugural Director of Communications in September 2026. Francesca aims to supercharge awareness of HTSV’s brand, mission, and affordable housing successes. She believes our communities are stronger when people at every income level have a safe and stable place to live. Francesca started out as a TV field reporter in the small town of Chico, California, more than 30 years ago. She worked her way up to international news, reporting for Reuters TV, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and more. Housing—and efforts to create more affordable options—has been a recurring theme throughout her journalism career.
After working in the news business, she served as a communications director and advisor for Silicon Valley elected officials at the county, state, and federal levels. She herself is a public official; she was first elected to the Menlo Park City School District Board in November 2020 and continues to serve today. She has supported affordable housing initiatives in each of these political positions.
Francesca earned her Master in Public Administration from the National University of Singapore and her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University. She lives in Menlo Park with her husband, teenage children, and their dog.
Housing stories are human stories, and she’d love to partner with you to get them out into the world.
