$4.3 Million Loan for Quetzal Gardens

Quetzal RCD

Housing Trust made a $4.3 million acquisition loan to RCD for Quetzal Gardens in the Little Portugal area of East San Jose. Quetzal Gardens will be six stories and the first two floors of the development will consist of a lobby, retail space for community serving non-profits and a parking garage. All 70 apartments will be affordable with at least 20 units for permanent supportive housing and the remainder for very low income households (earning up to 50% of the area median income).

A community room, manager’s office, and offices and meeting space for supportive service staff will be on the ground level while play and outdoor space will be on a third-floor podium courtyard. Residents will also have access to a mobile computer lab and technology lessons from RCD and resident services staff. Several green features will include a solar-powered water heating system, a green roof and the use of a greywater system for irrigation.
