Today, Housing Trust Silicon Valley welcomes Nazmin Bishop, who joins us as Chief Development and Communications Officer. Nazmin is a Bay Area native who has always loved the richness of the cultural diversity and the innovation and forward thinking of the region.
She has been in the fields of Business Development, Marketing, and Communications most of her professional career and has held key positions in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors including corporate aviation, leading a student loan partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, and an online fine art gallery on Costco.com.
Educated at the University of San Francisco, she holds a BA in Journalism and completed all requirements for the Journalism graduate program.
Her true passion is using her talents to advocate for under-resourced communities – a desire that led her to dedicate over two decades to the nonprofit world serving as Director of Major Gifts at Zen Hospice Project, Director of Development at Support for Families of Children with Disabilities, V.P. of Business Development at Art for Action, and Executive Director at Wings for Life. Prior to joining Housing Trust, she was Director of Philanthropy & Communications at Pacific Vison Foundation.
Her motto, we must all lead with humanity and make a difference everywhere we can, has led her to Housing Trust Silicon Valley. With housing inequity being at the top of the list for many BIPOC communities, living in the bay area has become unattainable. This threatens the diversity that she cherishes and has benefitted from so greatly in her life.
Nazmin is a steadfast supporter of Housing Trust’s mission to provide safe, stable, and affordable housing options to all. She is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of leadership and to continue to serve the bay area community.
