Dmitry, a teacher for the visually impaired, has worked for the Cupertino Union School District for the last four years. He loves the community he serves and could not imagine working anywhere else.
Last fall, Dmitry first discussed his dream to own a home with his parents and they suggested he look into local down payment assistance programs. His financial adviser also recommended he consider buying a home sooner than later, in order to build equity and save more money in the long run. After doing some research, he found the Empower Homebuyers SCC program and learned that the program provides up to 17% down payment assistance, making the dream of homeownership much more attainable. Dmitry went through the process to qualify for the Empower Homebuyers SCC loan and was approved to receive down payment assistance. He recently signed the final paperwork and is now the proud owner of his first condominium.
