Located in downtown Santa Rosa, 200 and 290 B Street will consist of a 64 unit affordable housing mix, including 32 units for households earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) and 32 units for households earning up to 140% AMI.
The site includes two existing masonry commercial buildings that will be renovated into 64 homes and will also include a ground floor commercial space for the current tenant. The targeted population are workforce housing or the “missing middle” in the Santa Rosa area – middle-income renters who work in the restaurant and services industries in and around the downtown area. The community is located near public transportation and is extremely walkable to retail and restaurants. Project amenities include game rooms, a workout facility, bike storage, in-unit washers and dryers, as well as rooftop solar panels to both defray tenant’s electric bills and to provide power to the common areas.
Housing Trust provided an acquisition loan of $7,225,000 to Phoenix Development through our Sonoma County Housing Fund (SCHF). The Sonoma County Housing Fund is a joint partnership between Housing Trust and the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber that leverages each other’s strengths, expertise, and local relationships. In this partnership, Santa Rosa Metro Chamber secures and deploys local investments to assist with creating or preserving affordable housing in the Sonoma County region and Housing Trust underwrites, approves, and administers the loans.
