Housing Trust is providing a predevelopment loan in the amount of $500,000 to MidPen Housing for Sunflower Hill, a 45-apartment community in Livermore serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

Sunflower Hill was formed as a nonprofit in 2012 by families of children with special needs to develop 45 apartments of affordable housing for adults with developmental disabilities. The vision is to create an intentional special needs community akin to senior communities with programming, amenities, and support services for the residents to live independently and thrive. Sunflower Hill has partnered with MidPen Housing, drawing on their 45+ years of experience developing and managing affordable housing, including homes for those with special needs.

Housing Trust Silicon Valley’s predevelopment loan provides patient financing that is unavailable elsewhere, keeping the development moving to completion.
