Housing Trust Silicon Valley warmly welcomes Prathit Thaker, who joins us as Chief Credit Officer. His responsibilities will include leading the credit, risk management, loan administration, asset management, and compliance functions.
Prathit is a seasoned executive with 25+ years of depth and breadth of credit risk management, commercial real estate finance and debt capital markets experience working at global investment and commercial banks, CDFI, CMBS originators and FinTech startups.
Prathit started his career in debt capital markets as a CMBS and MBS trader at Bear Stearns and later worked in structured finance focusing on CMBS transactions at Lehman Brothers – both in New York.
Educated at Harvard University and M. Arch, Prathit received his MPA in International Finance, and MCP degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to Housing Trust, Prathit worked at Capital Impact Partners (CIP), where he was responsible for business development, loan originations, and underwriting of complex affordable housing transactions in the Bay Area. He also managed the Bay’s Future Fund and Community Housing Fund partnerships which provided off-balance sheet capital for affordable housing developments. Prior to these roles, while working at the FDIC for two years during the Great Recession following 2008 financial meltdown, Prathit provided credit risk management oversight, consulting on asset quality evaluations of loan portfolios at 40+ banks.
