Since the Shelter in Place order began, the Homeownership team closed two loans for Empower Homebuyers SCC – the Measure A funded down payment assistance program created by the County of Santa Clara and administered by us. One of the loans went to a Cupertino teacher named Dmitry and the other for Katie and Carlos’ family.
Now the team is excited to start Empower Homebuyers SCC and other workshops online. They recently held their first Empower webinar via Zoom and nearly 40 future homebuyers attended. Even though people were not in the same room, participants showed their excitement about the program by asking great questions during the Q&A sessions.
Homeownership is also offering Realtor and Lender training workshops in the next few weeks and the next Empower Homebuyers SCC webinar will take place on May 7th – and Homeownership will notify everyone on the Empower interest list when registration begins.
